The Canadian government just put out a bill criminalizing conversion therapy—any practice, therapy, or service designed to change a person’s sexual orientation to heterosexual, gender identity to cisgender, or gender expression to the sex assigned to them at birth. This bill also criminalizes any practices, therapies, or services that would aim to repress or reduce the same. The bill is called C-4. It is so broadly written that it seems it could apply to merely reading Scripture, proclaiming the gospel, or having a conversation with an LGBTQ2S+ person. While we are unsure the extent to which this new law will extend, we are sure exactly what we are called to do in these times.
