The European Commission today announced details of proposals to ensure people in Northern Ireland have access to the same medicines at the same time as those in the rest of the UK.
Commissioner Maroš Šefcovic (prn Marosh Chef-koh-vich) said the proposals would apply to both generic and innovative life-saving medicines including those designed for cancer treatments.
The supply of medicines from Britain to Northern Ireland has been a major sticking point between the EU and UK on the implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
