An apparent softening of the British position on the role of the European Court of Justice in the Northern Ireland protocol is welcome. So says Ireland’s EU Commissioner, Mairead McGuinness.
Her comments follow the recent resignation of Lord David Frost as the UK’s chief Brexit negotiator. The British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will now take over the negotiations with the EU on the Protocol which will resume early in the New Year.
However, Commissioner McGuinness says there’s still work to be done to resolve the outstanding issues on the Protocol.
