The EU has designated 2022 to be the European Year of Youth.
It promises to give young people a stronger platform to make their voices heard especially when it comes to shaping policies at an EU, national and local level. There will be a special focus on young people with fewer opportunities and those dealing with mental health issues.
The idea of making 2022 youth-focused was originally put forward last September by the European Commission president Ursula Von der Leyen.
