Key Scripture; John 3.16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Jesus Christ the gift given unto us this very day.
Isaiah 9.6-7, the gift that was as a result of the Father's love.
• The features of God's given gift to us;
1. The light of the world.
Isaiah 9.1-2. The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. {Matt 4.16}
2. The expression of Gods love.
Jer 31.3 Long ago the Lord said to Israel: "I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
3. The King of Kings.
Putting my life and yours under new management.
Is 9.6For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
4. A yoke breaker and burden lifter.
Isa 9:4 For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor's rod, just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian. {1 Peter 4.7}
5. Can meet our deepest needs.
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. {Isa 9.6}
He offers counsel that is full of understanding and wisdom in your life. {Col 2.3}
He is a Father who will never turn His back on us.
Psalms 103:13-14 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.
