These humorous expense reimbursement stories are based on incidents that happened in real life to some of AP Now’s members. Clearly, accounts payable best practices are not in play in these incidents. The folks involved might need some accounts payable best practices training, that includes a review of expense reimbursement issues. Expense reporting is sometimes referred to as T&E, which stands for travel and entertainment.
At the end of the video, we refer to accounts payable cartoons, which appeared in the book, 127 Best Practices for Accounts Payable. They demonstrate that there really is humor in accounts payable. While these stories are not meant to demonstrate expense report game playing per se, they do employ questionable employee expense reporting practices.
Employee expense reports are a key area for discord between employees and the staff who is responsible for reviewing them, whether or not there is expense report abuse. Expense reporting systems sometimes prevent this type of expense report games employees play, as well as, expense report abuse.
