John 5.1-8
Bethesda "Pool of mercy"
An angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
And a man who had an infirmity for 38years was there, Jesus knowing this asked him " Do you want to be healed?"
His response was an excuse, "I don't have a man".
He was expecting a man, someone to help him to the pool, yet all who came to Bethesda were all mercy seekers.
Jesus is asking you and i today, Do you want to be healed?
Our excuses hinder us from receiving our healing. We seek so much after the healing that we miss the healer.
The angel used to come during appointed seasons to stir up the pool.
How is the pool stirred?
1. Through praise and worship. An opportunity to connect with the fruit of our lips.
2. Through prayer. Submitting to the altar that speaks to our life.
3. Through preaching of the word which is a weapon of mass destruction.
The altar is a place where Divinity meets humanity. How then can we connect to the altar?
1. Through worship.
2. Through giving {Gen 28.16-19}
3. Participation in the events eg DOI, MeMo, Youth Networks.
4. Honoring the altar. {Gen 28.17}
5. Practicing the word that is released from the altar.
