Animal transport proposals could put Ireland under ‘significant pressure’ – Kelleher
Some proposals on the transportation of animals across the EU could put Ireland under “extreme pressure”.
That’s according to Ireland South MEP Billy Kelleher who sat on a European Parliament Committee of Inquiry on the Protection of Animals during Transport (ANIT).
MEPs have today been voting on recommendations made by that Committee.
They include limits on journey times for all animals and a ban on the transportation of very young animals below the age of thirty five (35) days.
Billy Kelleher, is concerned that some of the recommendations being made are too severe.
