19.\\Importance of love and compassion for those who may be suffering in their active addiction. How we can shift our perspective to help others who are struggling.
In honor of my fathers birthday who would have been 69 today, I want to dedicate this episode to him and also help to shift your perspective on having love and compassion for those that may be suffering in their active addiction.
If there is one thing I learned through the pain of losing my father to his addiction, it was that I wish I could have had more love and compassion towards him and where he was at in his process. What may seem easy to some may be a hard struggle for others. When this occurs, what are you going to do about it?
You may have a child or a parent who is struggling, and rather than shame and condemn them for where they're at, why not wholeheartedly love on them and pray for them so they can break free from where they're at ? We give forgiveness and love because God forgives and loves us unconditionally no matter what we have done.
The way we change the world is by changing the way we see everything and everyone. So yes it starts with you. If I could tell my dad one thing I would tell him that I am so proud of him for all he did and loving us the best way he knew how. I know if our parents could give us more they would.
Our circumstances will not change until your mindset does .
Happy birthday Dad ! I love you so much!
