Greetings Village!
I interviewed Professor Engda Hagos for #AfroOptimist a new weekly show every Saturday at 6:00am PST.
We will get fresh news celebrating 'Africanness’ from our technological progress, economic growth, political reform, and Africa's dynamic and vibrant cultures. We will also discuss Africa’s current challenges with leaders in the continent and across the global African diaspora with hopes of increasing our optimism about Africa and her children.
My guest this Saturday is Professor Engda Hagos who was born and raised in Tigray, located in Northern Ethiopia. He lived in a Kenya refugee camp, moved to Washington D.C. in 1991, and he is currently a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Colgate University where his laboratory focuses on characterizing the genes involved in the initiation and
progression of cancer. He has mentored about 140 Colgate students on research projects on cell biology, developmental biology and cancer biology.
