This episode on “Greatest Misunderstood Characters” was our sincere attempt to discuss why some of “The Wrong Guys” were so deified in movies but then it morphed into why they work. Turns out that doubling down on flawed principles is as American as it gets.  Ed and Ron explore America’s love not only of rebels but of didactic inflexible people who refuse to grow. There’s also a discussion about character arcs and their function in film. This makes a great companion to our Greatest Problematic Characters episode.
