In this Episode of The GRID, host Chris Kuhlmann welcomes new co-host, Shaun Griffin, and the two examine how they each arrived at their vote for Trump, Chris by wisdom looking at the candidate’s party platform, and Shaun by a set of prophecies, one of which featured a detail that had already come to pass. In this episode, Part 1, Shaun will focus on a prophesy released by Jeremiah Johnson and discuss the importance of weighing a prophetic word.

Why I Voted for Trump
Today is a special day as this is the first time the Kingdom Patriot Group has had a co-host of The GRID, fellow Kingdom Patriot, Shaun Griffin. Shaun is one of my Business partners as well as a Podcast producer, Chief Media Officer, Graphic Designer, and an author. But the most important thing you need to know is Shaun passionately loves God and country.
To start us off I explain myself and make my case for voting for Trump.
There may not be a more polarizing man in the last decade than Donald J Trump. And while it seems strange that we are talking about President Trump in the 2nd year of the Biden presidency, the reason we are having this discussion is two-fold: 1) Trump remains in the headlines as it appears he is staying politically active and may run for President again and 2) The far left continues to run on a platform of “we are not Trump” and if you are against Biden, then you are “for” Trump. Therefore, if this demagoguery is going to remain front and center for Democrats, Progressives, and Liberals, then it seems prudent to explain why and I suspect millions of others voted for Trump.
It used to be that I truly would measure the candidate on an individual basis. I did this years ago while living in Arkansas and a friend whom I trusted said I should vote for Senator Mark Pryor, a democrat because he was a good man. I did so, but it didn’t take long to regret that. Voting for the “good man” didn’t change the fact that he represented a party that touted a platform that support gay rights, touted abortion as women’s healthcare, believed the federal government was the solution to all problems, and that conservatives were the enemy. I found out it really didn’t matter if he was a good man; for the most part, politicians vote w/ their party and therefore their platform becomes paramount. There are very view Joe Manchins and Kristin Sinemas of the world, those who would buck their party, and I suspect in those cases, it may be less about principal and more about the fact they are blue-dog democrats who are embedded in deeply red states.
So back to Trump. Voting for Trump actually was quite easy because of his opponent, Hillary Clinton. It’s unlikely that you will find a more corrupt family than the Clintons. Death, destruction, thievery, money laundering, and felonies follow them everywhere, some if infamous internet folklore; some is very real. How could I vote for her? I ask that because on a personal level, the decision was easy, but even if I loved Hillary Clinton, I would never vote for her. Why? Because you are never voting for and electing a candidate, you are voting for and electing a platform, ideas, principles, and philosophies. I know many will disagree with me here and I hate the mantra “you are a trump lover” because you voted for Trump.
Personally, let me tell you what I think about Trump. He’s bombastic, arrogant, thin-skinned, childish at times, not often well-spoken, might be corrupt, and for goodness sakes, addicted to Twitter which likely means he cares way too much what others are saying about him. He appears to always be looking for a fight. None of these characteristics and noble in my opinion. However, despite all of this, he does have some good qualities. Like few Presidents I’ve seen, he gets things done; he is a doer thru and thru. The art of the deal as he likes to say.
However, none of that matters…his few good qualities and a plethora of flaws. Why? Because I didn’t elect Donald Trump, I elected a platform, I elected ideas, principles, and philosophies. Honestly, I’m not sure he even shares the same principles as the Republican party, but when he ran on them, the followed them both on the campaign trail and after in office. The platform is a platform of limited government (he didn’t do this very well), reducing regulation, but more importantly he supported the freedom to worship even if it was counter culture to the radical agendas of the culture movement and supported limiting abortion which would save lives. The Republicans are equally as flawed as democrats, when you define mankind as a bunch of sinners needing a savior, but when you look at the philosophies and the principles of each party, really the biblical choice is clear. I never voted for Trump, I voted for the platform he espoused, regardless of the individual character flaws.
Shaun, that was a mouthful, but in a nutshell that’s why I voted for him twice.
Others will say I’ve gone totally off the rails and that I’m dead wrong. What about you? Why did you vote for Trump?
Preferred CRUZ – Announcement speech – ½ through, I was ready to support
Field of candidates to about 16, I liked ½, other half needed to go home.
LIKES: Carson, Christie, Cruz, Fiorina, Huckabee, Paul, Rubio, Trump
Then I heard and read the following prophesy, published in Charisma Magazine.
JEREMIAH JOHNSON
Aug 10, 2015
“Trump shall become My trumpet to the American people, for he possesses qualities that are even hard to find in My people these days. Trump does not fear man nor will he allow deception and lies to go unnoticed. I am going to use him to expose darkness and perversion in America like never before, but you must understand that he is like a bull in a china closet. Many will want to throw him away because he will disturb their sense of peace and tranquility, but you must listen through the bantering to discover the truth that I will speak through him. I will use the wealth that I have given him to expose and launch investigations searching for the truth. Just as I raised up Cyrus to fulfill My purposes and plans, so have I raised up Trump to fulfill my purposes and plans prior to the 2016 election. You must listen to the trumpet very closely for he will sound the alarm and many will be blessed because of his compassion and mercy. Though many see the outward pride and arrogance, I have given him the tender heart of a father that wants to lend a helping hand to the poor and the needy, to the foreigner and the stranger.
Line by line
It is important to understand that I had never heard of Jeremiah Johnson before I heard this prophecy. I didn't know him from a hole in the wall. According to New Testament scripture it is important for believers to weigh prophetic words. I weighed these words, and I will tell you that right off the bat my spirit bore witness that this was a word of the Lord. It stopped me in my tracks and is the reason that I switched from supporting Ted Cruz, to supporting Trump for as long as he remained in the race.
Two movements formed within the Republican party

While listening to a television interview with American businessman Donald Trump, he heard God say, "you're hearing the voice of a president," and that a stronger relationship between the United States and Israel will occur in the future.
LANCE WALLNAU
“I heard the Lord say: ‘Donald Trump is a wrecking ball to the spirit of political correctness,’” Wallnau wrote in an Oct. 5 Charisma News article titled “Why I Believe Donald Trump Is the Prophesied President.”
(Posted in Charisma Magazine)
I was updating some random social-media activity when I ran across a simple PowerPoint showing Trump seated in the Oval Office with the words "Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States." The image made a peculiar impression on my mind. I was dazed. Literally no one was thinking this would be a possibility, but I was sensing this was more than some random Facebook meme. It was a prophetic picture. It struck me the same way the "wrecking ball" word did.
I heard the Spirit impress upon my mind, "Read Isaiah 45." To be honest, I didn't recall what the chapter was about. I opened a Bible and began to read, "Thus saith the Lord to Cyrus whom I've anointed."
Cyrus? I thought. Who is he in relation to all this? I recalled that he was a heathen king who was indispensable to the protection of the Jews, but I was, frankly, confused as to what God was saying.
With 16 candidates running, many of whom are evangelicals, why would God talk about Cyrus? I quickly looked up the number of the next president. I confirmed that Barack Obama is number 44. The next president will indeed be number 45. I kept reading Isaiah 45.
Nearly 150 years before Cyrus' birth, God declared through the prophet Isaiah that a foreign man, a non-Jew named Cyrus, would be the anointed shepherd of his people and rebuild Jerusalem, beginning in the first phase with the house of the Lord. Regarding Cyrus, Isaiah the prophet spoke as follows:
"Thus says the Lord to Cyrus, His anointed, whose right hand I have held—to subdue nations before him and to loosen the loins of kings, to open doors before him so that the gates will not be shut: I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and shatter the bars of iron" (Is. 45:1-2).
Cyrus wasn't a Jew and he wasn't from the line of David, but God elevated this foreigner and called him "My anointed." When Isaiah described Cyrus as the Lord's "anointed," the word in Hebrew denotes a person specifically chosen and set apart for a specific task. It never occurred to me God anoints secular leaders who are not part of the faith community. Then again, how else would you describe Cyrus, Churchill, Lincoln or even Reagan?
God promised to intervene and help Cyrus "break open" and even conquer. The commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem starts with Cyrus' decree recorded in Ezra 1:1-4 to rebuild the house of the Lord. It was this "Cyrus decree" that worked its way through King Darius and King Artaxerxes until Nehemiah commenced his task to rebuild the wall surrounding Jerusalem.
One other prophetic word I heard / read, not covered in the Podcast:
KIM CLEMENT
Scottsdale, Arizona, Feb. 10, 2007
"There will be a praying president, not a religious one. 'For I will fool the people,' says the Lord. 'I will fool the people. Yes, I will.'
"God says, 'The one that is chosen shall go in, and they shall say, "He has hot blood. For the Spirit of God says, 'Yes, he may have hot blood, but he will bring the walls of protection on this country in a greater way and the economy of this country shall change rapidly,' says the Lord of Hosts. "Listen to the Word of the Lord. God says, 'I will put at your helm for two terms a president who will pray, but he will not be a praying president when he starts.'"
Redding, California, on April 4, 2007
Clement says, "I will raise up the Trump to be a trumpet and Bill Gates to open up the gate of a financial realm for the church, says the Lord. ... It shall come to pass that the man that I place in the highest office shall go in whispering My name. But God said, 'When he enters into the office, he will be shouting out by the power of the Spirit, for I shall fill him with My Spirit when he goes into office, and there will be a praying man in the highest seat in the land.'"
Clement passed away in late November 2016, only weeks after Trump was elected president. As weighty as his words were, he's not the only one who prophesied Trump's win
