This is the second episode in a series of six episodes regarding Chinese dictator Mao Zedong. This episode explores the Chairman's military exploits that resulted in his rise to power. Particular emphasis will be placed on the formation of the United Front, the Chinese Civil War, the Long March, and the Sino-Japanese War. Events will be examined to explain how they contributed to Mao's rise to power and the formation of his personality cult. The material in this podcast serves as an introduction to the International Baccalaureates' Paper two topic 10 - Authoritarian States (20th century).
