The girls' basketball team at Marysville High School has been successful throughout Ryan Rathje's 19 years as head coach.
The Vikings had many winning seasons, but they never won a regional championship despite having many talented players over the years.
This year's group finally captured the regional crown and played in the state quarterfinals for the first time in school history. The championship was a lasting achievement for the eight seniors on the team and for Rathje and his staff, which includes some of his former players.
