Have you ever tried to solve a problem and ended up making matters worse? That’s what happens when we try to operate in our own wisdom without doing things God’s way. He has a way, but it’s not usually what we would choose. God sees things differently than we see them. We have distorted vision. His vision is perfect.
If you’ve ever heard me teach at a conference, you know that I’m a huge fan of reading a Proverb a day. It’s just so life-changing! God wants to teach us how to live in this moment in history. We are here by design and on purpose. The problems we face are just part of the script of life in a fallen world.
Proverbs chapter four is great for learning how to solve problems. God left us with instructions that apply to anything that comes up in this life, because life is really just a rotation. Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells us so: "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."
We don’t have new problems. We have old problems in new wrapping paper. This episode covers four ways that we can prepare our hearts and minds to become more effective at problem solving.
