188 \\ Can Trauma Help You Grow? | Post-Traumatic Growth: Finding Meaning and Creativity in Adversity
We're trained unfortunately to give people what they want to see and tell people what they want to hear.
Just enough, that they won't see the thoughts, the questions, the fears, the doubts, the insecurities, the grief, the anger, all of the REAL that we're actually carrying at any given time.
The logic is that this keeps us safe and empowered, but the opposites are true--it shuts down our feelings and power.
Even after trauma, positive growth is possible and actually expected. While it can be facilitated through counseling, it doesn't have to be.
Until next time,
Stay blessed!
