When the actor William Hurt recently passed away, HCC film professors Marie Westhaver and Mike Giuliano immediately knew they would want to devote a podcast episode to his career. They marvel at how the 1980s was a terrific decade for this actor, who became a major star in films including "Altered States" (1980), "Body Heat" (1981), "The Big Chill" (1983), his Academy Award-winning performance in "Kiss of the Spider Woman" (1985), "Broadcast News" (1987) and "The Accidental Tourist" (1988). They also discuss how his leading man roles mostly ended at that point, but that he continued to appear in supporting roles until recently.
