Danyale is a graduate of Russell Sage College & Columbia University’s School of Social Work. She has worked as a social worker for over 20 years in various settings! Danyale is also the mother of a 12-year-old son who is on the Autism spectrum. Her son is the inspiration for Living Autism Out Loud, LLC (LAOL) . LAOL was founded by Danyale with the goal of decreasing and eventually eliminating cultural barriers that Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) parents face when accessing supports and services for their children with autism and/or intellectual developmental disabilities. By including the “parent voice” in professional supports and services, LAOL focuses on improving family engagement with provider organizations, human service agencies and educational institutions through culturally responsive trainings, presentations, and panel discussions.
