As a younger man, I was beaten, frequently, by police. They used clubs. My main offense, besides minor drug infraction involving the Evil Weed, was a not protesting in favor of what my Dad called "mari-ja-wanna", but against the production of Nuclear Weapons. Long story short, these attempts at interference by me and a number similarly concerned citizens led to the police beating us until the trucks, painted up as "Walmart" etc. trucks, could get passed our line, sitting hand in hand, in their way. This was at a nuclear weapons production facility East of Denver Colorado. It was known as "Rocky Flats".
