This week I am talking about all things hydration! We all have heard it’s important to drink a lot of water, but why and how much? I’ll explain fluid balance and why it matters to your body as well as tell you how much to drink.
To figure out how much water is best for you, you’ll want to drink 30-40 mL of water per kilogram of body weight. Take your body weight and divide by 2.2. Then multiply that number by 30 to get your minimum amount of mL needed. 30 mL = about 1 oz.
Example: 150 lbs.
150/2.2 = 68 kg
68 X 30 = 2040 mL
2040 mL/30 mL = 68 oz.
68 X40 = 2720 mL
2720 mL/30 mL = 90 oz.
So, you this person would want to drink between 68-90 oz of water each day.
