Beauty, Ugliness and True Blessings | Rev. Peter Maina Ngure | DCIKZ
*Gen 29:17,*
Leah’s eyes were delicate, but Rachel was beautiful of form and appearance
*Gen 29:30-35*
●Leah felt unloved and unwanted and everytime she bore a child, she said something about it
1. Reuben- The Lord has surely looked on my affliction.
2. Simeon- Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved
3. Levi-Now this time my husband will become attached to me
●But Leah's fourth child was different, this child was named Judah and Leah's statement about this child was different 'Now I will praise the Lord' see his great lineage afterwards.
Rachel on the other hand knew she was beautiful and loved and therefore proud and arrogant.
God uses Leah's fruitfulness(having children) to bring her back to Himself and uses Rachael's barrenness to bring her back to Himself.
Rachael's waiting was necessary for her spiritual health
Later on, Rachael dies on the way as they travel but it is from the lineage of Leah's son Judah that Jesus was born.
Judah was carried by a woman(Leah)who felt unwanted and unworthy that we may feel wanted and worthy
Jesus had to be born from this lineage so that we may feel loved and wanted
God sees our(my) heart(s)and has a plan for us(me)
God sees differently from men.
He brings out beauty from ashes.
Are you feeling unworthy, unwanted and loved? Be encouraged because God sees beyond what men see, He knows it all!
Of these two women,
1. Who was sadder?
2 Who would you rather be?
