Episode 282 TNFro Is Reading Feeling Safe for 5 Minutes, Black Excellence, Trash TV and Regrettable Viewing, Quark’s Bar and Popular Culture Shenanigans

I recorded this episode and sent it for editing prior to the Uvalde School Shooting and right after the Buffalo Domestic Terrorist Shooting...I am back to "head-on-swivel" and not wanting to go outside. Some of that is cured by my Black and Deck Bug Zapper, but even being strapped I still am weary to trust any of ya'll. 

In this episode I wax poetic about being home in VA and back in TN and feeling safe, that lasted 5 minutes, because Jose and they went crazy at the elementary school in TX...my reaction to the talking heads Abbot, Cruz, Rubio check out previous episodes 58 and 59.

I have watched lots of trash TV because I can't stand this news cycle...And of course, I talk books because after all this is TNFro Is Reading...

My comments on pop culture seem lame now...but let me know what you think...

Always remember to be kind...

I used to scoff at people making this statement. Maybe because of its simplicity or maybe because it sounded more like an admonishment that I was being everything but kind. But then when I started investigating it for myself that’s when I realized, that I was confusing politeness with kindness. Politeness is a fake superficial manner in which required no investment no self-reflection. But being kind is an adjective, it is an action. If you are kind to yourself first it’s like exercise memory you will continue and will be kind to others. Let that sit with you for a while. I am being kind to myself. I’ll be kind to others. Very simple. Repeat.

Lean into the spirit of the New Year by counting your blessings, giving to others, and spreading happiness! I know I will!

It is the beginning of a New Year so be kind to your mind and others. Give love to receive love.
