The Taoiseach this morning condemned the British government for what he called its “bad faith efforts” to undermine a Treaty freely entered into.
Micheál Martin was speaking in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. He told MEPs unilateral action by the British government on the Northern Ireland Protocol, would be “deeply damaging” and would mark a “historic low point”.
Brexit and the problems with the Protocol weren’t the only topics the Taoiseach touched on during his address. Other issues included the war on Ukraine, John Hume’s legacy and the benefits of Ireland’s 50 years of EU membership.
Well Green Party MEP Ciarán Cuffe gave his reaction to the Taoiseach’s speech, to journalist Angelique Ferat who was in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
