This week we continue through the Beatitudes—those counter-cultural blessed statements from Jesus—with “blessed are those who mourn.” We’ll look at what mourning means in our culture, what brings us grief. Then we’ll see how Jesus, our savior who suffered much, is our great comfort by dealing with the root of all mourning now and forever. Scripture reading is Matthew 5:4.
