Soup Pha is a recording artist, entertainment TV host, Trusted Ambassador to the Royal Family of Cambodia, a humanitarian and historian of South East Asia. His father is a survivor of the brutal Khmer Rouge invasion of Cambodia, which Soup details in this episode. Warning: this episode is hard to listen to in its honesty and devastation of the Cambodian Genocide that occurred under Pol Pots dictatorship between 1975 and 1979. The material covered may be sensitive to some.
We also cover Soup's recording career, his experience as a 1st Generation American and a child of Cambodian and Thai refugees who is reconnecting with his roots. This is a heartfelt, touching and honest account that includes one of Soup's recordings at the end called, "Snam Kham".

This is a scholarly article on how these mice are trained, their accuracy in detecting mines, etc. It is interesting to note that among the scholarly articles that are available, one includes political opposition to the use of these mice despite scientific data to their enormous benefit because old mine excavation methods are preferred by certain groups.
