Have you ever wondered why Jesus referred to us as sheep? Sheep, by their very nature, are prone to wander off from the safety of their flock. They are programmed by their creator to follow each other. Sheep are almost totally lacking in protection from predators. They lack wisdom to discern good from evil and are unable to be transformed into the likeness and image of their shepherd. But they know that they are stronger together as they submit to their shepherd who guides, directs, and protects them. Jesus is that loving Shepherd, inviting us into His flock. (John 10:11-18)
