217: Travel Back To the 1970s for 54 & The Nice Guys

Time to put on your bellbottoms and do the hustle all night long for this week's Double Edged Double Bill! At the behest of their Patrons, Adam and Thomas are traveling back to the age of disco and smoking indoors with an episode all about 1970s period pieces. First, Studio 54's cool vibes and Mike Myers' Oscar hopes are dashed by executive meddling with 54! Then, Shane Black puts '70s attire on Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe for The Nice Guys! Together, our duo answers the crucial questions. How much of an improvement is the director's cut of 54 compared to the theatrical version? What element do filmmakers forget about in constructing period pieces? Which two films will they pick for next week's episode about One Crazy Night movies?
