It’s Week 10 of the college football season, and we have the season’s initial College Football Playoff rankings. And even though we taped the day before they came out, guest host Braden Gall is ready to dive in, with a discussion about the state of Ohio State and the rest of the B1G East, why Cincinnati wouldn’t be in the initial Final Four and who will be a huge CFP wild card as the season progresses (Hint: They quack).
And we’re happy to point out that Braden’s assessments were dead on the money when the rankings were released Tuesday night.
AJ is stoked for a daylight Power Five matchup that comes with an off-the-charts AJ Fun Index. And this week’s Big Red Report yielded predictions of a win at Penn and the highlight of the week: Crappy and Braden regale #CnCShow listeners with stories of their personal football glory.
With a note that we’ve officially switched from using AP rankings to the CFP rankings for the rest of the season, here are this week’s games:
No. 10 Wake at North Carolina (Noon Saturday, ABC) Oddly, this is a non-conference game for these two ACC foes -- but that doesn’t make this game and its 76.5 AJ Fun Index any less interesting.
Tulane at No. 6 Cincinnati (3:30 p.m. Saturday, ESPN2) Tulane gave Ohio State all it could handle back in September. Can the Green Wave do the same to the Bearcats on Saturday?
Tennessee at No. 18 Kentucky (7 p.m. Saturday, ESPN2) Braden, himself a Volunteer, notes that Kentucky is one of the most physical teams in the SEC -- will that be enough to handle Tennessee in this border battle?
Finally, we wrap with further news of the #CnCShow junior varsity you guys met last week: Braden got to meet Miss Ellie Fox in person, and Aidan Krieg dominated both his mother and Crappy last week, correctly picking all three games. Have a great college football weekend, boys and girls, and may your picks be as good as Aiden’s.
