It's Week 2 of the 2020 "we have no idea" college football season, and this week, we're all in on the ACC. But before we dive into the latest conference jumping into the fray, we take a moment to review Week 1. Carla wonders whether BYU could enter the national conversation, and Crappy takes a moment to (deservedly) gloat over Army's big win ... and we both wonder what happened to Navy and revel in the unexpectedly entertaining SMU/Texas State affair.
And then ... we hear from our good friend AJ, who returns for another season of #GroupOfFiveAfterDark games. Because trust us, there are several you should be paying attention to this week.
Now, ready for some ACC goodness? Here we go.
Duke at No. 10 Notre Dame (2:30 ET, NBC): Ian Book's back for his ... 12th season? Duke's offense could be good but has had limited reps due to a transfer QB and an injured center. The Irish don't need to be spectacular to win their home opener ... they just need to be solid.
Georgia Tech at Florida State (3:30 ET, ABC): The coaching carousel continues at Florida State. James Blackman offers some offensive stability, other than his propensity for throwing picks. A motivated Tech squad could make this game super interesting. Keep a close eye on this one.
No. 1 Clemson at Wake Forest (7:30 ET, ABC): Why the heck is Clemson opening on the road? Not that it's likely going to matter much — with Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne both returning, the Tigers offense will continue to roll. Wake's defense should be solid, but its offense hasn't scored a touchdown against Clemson in three seasons.
We also give honorable mention honors to Western Kentucky at Louisville and UAB at Miami. More ACC teams, but with non-conference opponents (and very intriguing lines). And with that ... enjoy the football, yinz guys.
