There are movie stars who come along, delight us, then exit the center stage fairly quickly. Then there are character actors with decades-long careers. There are even movie stars who shine for decades and they are the true greats. Then there’s Tom F–ing Cruise. He’s been famous for as long as many of us have been alive and he seems to be getting stronger through the ages. He’s gone from youthful heartthrob to reliable cipher, to super producer and the American answer to Jackie Chan in the Mission Impossible franchise. This convo spans his career. Of course, we don’t get into every movie and of course, we spoil Top Gun Maverick a bit towards the end. But c’mon you knew he was gonna win in the end because that’s what he does.
