K1 We often think of peer pressure as being bad. Can you think of any current examples of when peer pressure is good or beneficial?

G1 12:1 What is your response to the idea that a group of historic saints / martyrs is watching you, surrounding you as you “run the race of life”? How might this image be encouraging? Disconcerting?
G2 What is it necessary to run WITH ENDURANCE the race marked out for us? What does it mean to endure? Do you think in general we’ve grown in our ability to endure?
G3 Why might accounts of suffering and enduring be more important to hear than stories of success? Read Hebrews 11:35-38 out loud. How do you respond to this passage?
G4 Read Hebrews 11:39-40. What do you make of this idea that we have a responsibility to the saints who have gone before us? How does this compare with today’s idea of “corporate responsibility”?
G5 “Jesus is the Pioneer of our faith”. What does this mean? What about “Jesus is the Perfecter of our faith”?
G6 Take the ideas of God as the Architect and Builder of the city with foundations (11:10) and Jesus as the Pioneer and Perfecter of our faith (12:2) and incorporate these truths into your prayers. Thank the Father and Jesus for these parts of their character that scripture reveals.
