Anne Marie Rogers is first class all the way, pun-intended. She is the Director of Meetings, Incentives & Events for a company called Direct Travel where she oversees all aspects of client meetings and events, including sales, procurement, planning and operations for their corporate customers. What is incentive travel you may ask? Imagine the company that takes their Top 100 employees to Hawaii - she, with her team, will plan all of the details for this trip, and sometimes also travel along to ensure everything is executed properly. Anne Marie has been in the travel industry for many years, and with Direct Travel since 1996. She is known in the events industry for strong supplier relationships, her understanding of contracts, and her leadership and negotiation skills. She has received both her CIS (Certified Incentive Specialist) and her CITP (Certified Incentive Travel Professional) designations.
In this episode, we discuss trends in the travel industry, the best day to book a flight or travel, the importance of planning ahead or time of day you should be traveling depending on the purpose of the trip. We learn about the various idiosyncrasies of personal travel, leisure travel, business travel, and incentive travel, and truly what each of these really mean in the real world. With her intimate relationship with the travel industry, she also provides insight into the travel world post COVID: the why and how of flight frustrations, costs, cancellations, and delays. This is one episode for the personal or business traveler where everyone will learn something. Anne Marie said it best: Traveling is one of the greatest way to eliminate any prejudice by experiencing the world around you. Connect with Anne Marie: arogers@dt.com
