Covid led many to rethink their careers and follow through on aspirations to open shops and this has helped the retail sector bounce back with a vengeance post-lockdown but it now braces itself for a bruising winter, according to Creative Retail director Scott Robertson.
Creative Retail, which is Birmingham-based but has an increasingly national presence, sits in fifth place on the 2022 Radius On-Demand Rankings for retail disposals for the whole of the UK. It has let or sold 164,829 sq ft so far this year.
Robertson says the sector faces a period of unprecedented economic turbulence and predicts more casualties to come. However, with the right support from both national and local government he believes bricks and mortar retail has a bright future.
