The Adoption & Foster Care Journey
Religion & Spirituality:Christianity
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Welcome to The Adoption & Foster Care Journey—a podcast to encourage, educate and equip you to care for children in crisis through adoption, foster care and kinship care.
In honor of International FASD Awareness Month, all of our September episodes will focus on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. FASD affects a disproportionate number of children in child welfare, therefore is a topic every adoptive and foster parent must be aware of and skilled in.
On this episode host Sandra Flach talks with Kathryn Meinhardt, a foster and adoptive mom of eleven children—5 with an FASD. Listen in as Kat shares her adoption journey, how she learned about FASD, and why homeschooling works for her family.
