A multi-billion Euro fine against Google has been welcomed by a Dublin MEP. In its judgment this morning, the European Court of Justice upheld an EU decision to penalise the digital giant for “unlawful restrictions on manufacturers of Android mobile devices”. The court set the fine at €4.125 billion. Google has two months to decide whether to appeal. Dublin MEP, Ciarán Cuffe, welcomed the judgment. He says it shows fair competition applies to all.
