in 1988 Mike Piersante was a young drummer in the LA area. That same year he would be hired as a studio runner at Sunset Sound, a moment that would be step 1 of the rest of his life and that would set a path for decades to come. Mike received a compliment one afternoon from Sunset Sound founder Tutti Camarata, stating that he would be a "great engineer" one day. That set Mike on fire and would do everything he could and then some to do just that... become a "great engineer" one day. After getting picked up by T Bone Burnett in the early 90's to be his engineer, Mike would go on to work with the biggest artist's, bands and films of all time. Recording albums for Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Robert Plant, John Mellencamp among so many others. Not to mention the films Mike has engineered including Walk The Line, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou & Inside Llewyn Davis. Mike came back in Sunset Sound to sit down in studio 2 with Drew Dempsey, Paul Camarata and Phil MacConnell to share his story of accomplishment all beginning in these Sunset studios.
