The Best Of Your Best
Text: Matthew 25:14-30
Thesis: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and
who correctly handles the word of truth.”

1. God gives us good things!

A. In Jesus’ parable, The Master distributed “talents”.
1. A Talent is not a skill or trade, but a weight, and the value was
determined by the type of precious metal being weighed.
2. Each one was given to their ability.
2. We are called to use the good gifts of God to the fullest extent.

A. The first and second servant each doubled their talent, while the third servant buried
his talent.

B. The master would have been happier if the servant had tried and failed than if the servant had
not tried at all!
1. The lazy servant’s only talent was taken and given to the one with
the most.
