We’ve all heard that term. What does it really mean though? Have you ever personally met and spent time with a person for whom you would think of as “larger than life”? What is that even about? How would you know?
Well, for starters, you would feel it. When in their presence, you just feel something that you don’t usually feel with other people. You don’t even have to have the words for it. You don’t even need to understand it. You just feel it. Something about their aura, their life energy, the way they tell a story, the way their body moves… it just is. Larger than life.
Maybe they’ve lived several lives. Maybe they’ve contributed to the good of the world, and to the good of the lives of others in more ways than one. Maybe they’ve achieved feats most of us can’t even dream of.
All I can say is that I hope everyone gets to at least once in their life spend some time with someone they feel is “larger than life”. And when you do, listen to them, support them, love them and tell others about them. Wish that there were more of them.
Ilina Arsova
Athlete, artist, activist. I just realized, while I’m writing this, that’s triple A! Ilina Arsova is triple A!
Climbed countless mountains, including the seven highest peaks on each continent. The big 7 they call it. Wrote a book about that, and much more. Had written another book prior to this one, which I didn’t even know about. Paints dynamic expressions of her soul merged with nature. Actively spreads a message of love to the world. Love your fellow beings. Love nature. Love yourself. Love life.
Ilina Arsova. Larger. Than. Life!

One lovely sunny June day in this summer of ‘22, on the shores of Ohrid lake, I got the chance to spend a day with Ilina. That right there is something people rarely appreciate. For a person to so unconditionally devote almost a whole day just for you! Just for me, someone she never met. Someone she will probably never meet again. Although I really hope that doesn’t turn out to be true :)
We swam together, we did lower body mobility and ability drills, we even climbed boulders in her garage, and most of all, we talked for hours and recorded two.
Ilina, thank you for being! My life is enriched for knowing you!
Enjoy this episode!

Please note that while I am a life-long athlete in many sports and disciplines and a performance coach/manager on-the-side, I don’t consider myself an expert in anything and I never intend to impose my own beliefs and opinions on anyone. Although I sometimes may offer advice and suggestions it is every individual’s own responsibility to rationally decide whether or not to accept them.
And with all that said, I hope you enjoy this episode.
