When Kim's husband had cancer, and after he died, Kim noticed there were two kinds of people. One group seemed to know what to say and how to be helpful instinctually, and the second group unintentionally said and did unhelpful or hurtful things. The second group was much larger than that first. She realized those in the second group had wanted to help but didn't understand how.
