In this episode we are joined by Yulanda Yo-Rong Shieh, talking all things scenic design. Yulanda is a production and scenic designer based in New York, whose love of listening to stories as a kid has grown into a passion for visual storytelling. Her approach to design is always from the heart of hers to that of the characters. Born and raised in Taiwan, Yulanda has her BA in theatre and has worked as a set designer on many films produced in Taiwan and China. Since arriving in New York, she has been production designing films with collaborators around the world. She received her MFA in Design for Stage and Film at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to her film credits, Yulanda’s set design for the opera Elektra was exhibited in Prague Quadrennial in 2011.
