When our body reaches its stress threshold, the brain starts to go into survival mode and it thinks there's danger everywhere because it's so used to responding to stress.
Essentially what happens when your brain is on high alert mode is it perceives every stressor as 10 times worse than it actually is, and actually takes things that aren't stressful and turns it into something that's stressful.
