Pubs have witnessed a remarkable comeback post-lockdown with the public viewing the sector with a renewed sense of importance, although challenges undoubtedly lie ahead, according to Fleurets director and head of national agency James Davies.
Fleurets currently leads the Radius On Demand Rankings for the UK’s hotel and leisure sector, with almost 300,000 sq ft of space transacted this year. Davies believes pubs have enjoyed a honeymoon period in the post-lockdown period, with many new units opening up in what were traditional retail spaces.
However, he also believes the sector needs help with VAT rates and with the ability to hire overseas workers if it is to overcome the recessionary storm clouds currently gathering.
