Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Steadfast love and faithfulness preserve the king, and by steadfast love his throne is upheld. The glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray hair. Blows that wound cleanse away evil; strokes make clean the innermost parts.
