A) If you are insulted. You are blessed. But wait just a minute. Not if you are insulted because you are a jerk. Then, you are not blessed. You are a jerk. But if you are insulted (ridiculed, disrespected) for The Name of Christ. Jesus said the same thing: Matthew 5:11, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. B) The Spirit of glory and of God: The Holy Spirit. Not only does He live in you, but he also “rests” upon you. The idea is that the Spirit lives within for character and Christ-likeness and upon us for ministry and warfare. C) Suffering as a sinner is not impressive to man or God. And Peter covers the entire spectrum, from the worst (a murderer) to what seems insignificant (a meddler). Both of these are problems. Sin, unchecked and unrepented, brings problems.
