St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran, Howards Grove, WI - Nov. 27th, 2022

This is the first Sunday of Advent, which means “coming”. In this season, we prepare for the Lord’s coming at the end of this world, we celebrate the Lord’s coming to us in his Word and Sacrament, and we prepare to celebrate the Lord’s coming in the flesh on Christmas. We light candles on the Advent wreath throughout the season as the light of God’s Word shines with hope in the darkness of this world, and as we look forward to celebrating the birth of the Light of the World, Jesus. Today, our theme is “Keep Watch! The Lord is Coming.” Our sermon is based on Romans 13.
