Metaxas’ Urgently Needed Throw-down with the American Church

Eric Metaxas is arguably the most brilliant, principled and courageous public intellectual of his generation. A serial bestselling author, he’s inspired by and powerfully evokes the lives and works of those he’s chronicled, particularly: theologian Martin Luther, slavery abolitionist William Wilburforce and religious freedom champion Dietrich Bonhoffer. 

Metaxas has “channeled” these historically impactful individuals in his newest book, A Letter to the American Church. It warns that U.S. Christian leaders, denominations and houses of worship are exhibiting shortcomings that resulted in their German counterparts accommodating, submiting to and ultimately being destroyed by Adolf Hitler’s Nazis.
