Wrestlemania 8 would feature a double main event as Hulk Hogan would face Sid Justice in what was being touted as possibly Hogan's final match, and Ric Flair defended the WWE Title against 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. However, it was underneath that marks the true significance of this show, as the company began to move away from the tried and trusted roster of the previous 5 years and took a significant step towards The New Generation, with many of the big names of the era picking up big victories, perhaps none so important as Bret Hart's Intercontinental Title win over 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper.
