TOP EPISODE: 1) At some point, after the pride is laid down, the people of God start to get it. Instead of trying to box in how God brings the Gospel to mankind, there has to be a surrender and a ride-along that takes place. I have been on a police ride-along in Scottsdale, Arizona, with officer Gary Nelson. We drove down the wrong side of the road at high speeds to check out a burglary. Guess what the person riding along gets to do? Not much, but smile and hold on. 2) The church always claims to be in the desire of the early church. Not so much. The early church was spreading out because of the persecution and death of Stephen. The believers were scattering for their lives. In our present-day church, we complain if we are asked to invite someone to church or pass out tracks. They were in fear for their lives. We are in fear of embarrassment. It’s not the same. 3) The scattered believers preached the Gospel and God was with them. People were being impacted towards the kingdom of God. Barnabas was sent to help. Barnabas did the single smartest thing a leader can do when he saw that God was churning out salvations through these believers. He did nothing because he could see that God was in control and getting it done. He didn’t quench the move of the Spirit in the hearts of the people. The best leadership enables good to happen.
