1) It can be challenging to journey against the spirit and feelings of loneliness. Somewhere, in the back of our thoughts, is this idea (rather a lie) that we are not worthy to have someone be close to us the way we so desire it to be. The bigger problem is that because we are people and there are people all around us, we long for that high level of connection. YES, pets can be tremendous. I love, love, love my dogs—most of the time. But I need something deeper. Something even more profound than my best human friend can give me. What a friend we have in Jesus. 2) As many of you know, I tend to lean on the most practical side of our Christian faith. So I’m not too fond of movement or formulas. They create more problems than they solve. But I love what Paul said in 2nd Corinthians: “We also believe and therefore speak.” That is called being biblical. Let’s do that.
