The news this week included the shocking announcement that Humpty-Dumpty may not have been an egg. Scholars believe he might refer to a military canon or an English king. Whatever the nursery rhyme means, it most certainly does not refer to Lewis Carroll’s human-like egg. However, the story helps us see something useful about humanity—it’s irretrievably broken. This is why Jesus came. He came to put back together what sin destroyed. Today’s sermon: A Godly Response to Grace. (Mark 5:1-20)
